Was it just stability control that flashed or check engine as well? Obvious question: any codes?
Age/condition of the spark plugs and coils? It might have flooded if you started and stopped it quickly and the ignition is poor. There's a deflood procedure you can google. It takes longer that you think but works.

If you haven't already read rx8help.com. Good knowledge compiled from this forum.

oxygen sensor what though? there are several different o2 sensor codes, and 2 O2 sensors.

Deflooding takes longer that you think. Also pulling the relay isn't really the procedure. You want the gas pedal down to the floor while starting.

not sure on the code believe it was down stream sensor i pulled the relay to prevent pump power held the gas pedal down turned it over for 15 sec then turned over no pedal 15 sec repeated for 5 mins until there was no gas smell

Be sure your battery is 100%.
Terminals are clean and tight, they can stretch over time.

Any weakness at all will cause problems. I averaged about 3 years on a battery.
I got to the point where I could listen to it and know I needed a new one.

If you crank it and it sounds like it's cranking slower at all, it's probably time for a new one.

I had Advance tell me my battery tested good and I insisted on a new battery.
Problem solved.

Did you calibrate the steering wheel? When you start it after disconnecting the battery, it wants you to turn the steering lock to lock to calibrate steering position sensor. But if you do it or not, both lights should go off on the second start after. If it doesn't then you have some other problem with the ABS or wheel speed sensors. It should set a code.

My first bet would be a damaged wheel speed sensor. If someone had the suspension off it's easy to put weight on the sensor wire and damage it. Have a look at them physically. There should be a code, but you may need a more advanced scanner to read TSC codes.

Rx8 Power Steering Not working

So I bought this rx8 from a guy and I have replaced Fuses, Engine, Transmission and Power steering rack but the power steering still isn't working?
I've cleaned wires and have done everything I can think of other than replacing the computer for it.
I'm out of ideas what it could be.
