I see most threads here start with how to rebuild a motor, or what mods to start with.

I just picked up a winning blue 04' base with 60k on a reman - runs strong, quick start-up when warm, great compression numbers.

It had the typical mods

- Sohn adapter

- Deleted air pump & valve

- VFAD completely removed

- Throttle body coolant bypass

- Test pipe

While these mods may improve power, (didn't feel different before & after, TBH) I bought the car to compete in C Street for autocross, so I had to put everything back. Plus the dash was lit up like a christmas tree.

Very nice! I'm a new RX-8 owner as well (assuming this is your first one). I love the Winning Blue. If I could have picked the color of my 8, that would have been it. Or Nordic Green Where do you autocross?

There are several things in the Congrats thread below that may help things along without running afoul of the rules. All good stuff for an older one.

And, Nordic Green is the fastest color..
