new member advice needed (oil cooler replacement)
Greetings just bought a wrecked 2007 rx8. One oil cooler needs to be replaced. Should I replace the one oil cooler or should I replace both with one single cooler?

The short answer though, is if you are replacing a twin oil cooler setup with 1 OEM oil cooler, then it is a bad idea that will contribute to a short engine life. The stock twin oil coolers work very well. They do cause a restriction in the system though, a restriction which can be reduced by replacing with a single larger oil cooler to achieve the same cooling capacity. You would have to deal with mounting challenges of course, and just mounting it in front of the radiator means that you are going to reduce the radiator's efficiency as well, so that isn't quite as ideal.
