Hello everyone, new member here. Y'all have a pretty cool little community here and I'm glad to finally be able to join it! I've owned my 8 for about two years now and against my better judgement, I've fell in love with the dang thing. I actually was one of those guys that jumped on buying one with absolutely zero research, save riding around in an 06 my sister owns. I bought mine off my brother for for $2500 as he was going to trade it in. I just gave him what the dealership offered him for trade in value. I know for sure now I stole it. It's an 04 6 speed M/T pretty much bone stock, except there is now a straight piece of pipe where the cat used to be. When I bought it, it was pretty dirty and in need of some TLC. I followed the steps on this forum to basically bring her back to life. The car's only problem was a lack of maintenance. Now, after about two years and several road trips, I'm pretty confident I got lucky with a "good engine." I've got about 136,xxx miles on this car and it's just as fast and strong as my sisters. I should mention that hers is on her second week of a fresh engine rebuild, so yeah, I'm super proud of mine. Haha! I'll admit, the first time I read the new member post, I was scared to death. Mine had all the symptoms of low compression, or so I thought. But as previously mentioned, she just needed some love. Anyhow, blah blah blah right? Hope to be able to bring some knowledge to this forum in the future. Thanks to all those who add to this forum and thanks for the opportunity to be a part of it! -Ryan

Looks good. Keep it clean and keep it maintained like you have and it should treat you well.

Good story.

Usually success stories don't get posted, so it's nice for a change.

Like celestial said, you're already doing well! Keep it up, and may she give you another... 20k miles of worry free driving (Though more would be nice!)

Another 20k would be great! 155k on a renesis would be quite an accomplishment I think. Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
