New to me

Just picked up a new to me 05 Shinka. (It is a Shinka, I checked the vin), and it is Black Cherry, with a partial Parchment interior. So let me begin by saying I know NOTHING about the rotary engine. I had test driven a new 2004 when they came out and loved it, but it had no power compared to other cars I was test driving, but boy could it handle!! So 17 years later, I got this. It needs some TLC and has numerous mods, and I will be searching here to see what they are.

Congratulations. Welcome to the club.
Get a proper rotary engine compression test done first and then start sorting out the car. I'd start with the wheels.

Welcome. Looks sharp! Looks like you have a 2-stoke oil adaptir, so you'll want to make sure the oil reservoir is kept filled with 2-stoke oil. This is a good modifications to have.

Take a read over at rx8help.com to familiarize yourself with the key points. The site is built by a member here and accumulates much of the common recommendations.

It looks like the previous owner was quite the enthusiast and did some really good mods. Might be ok on this one. Love the black cherry!

Thanks for the comments. Right now it's getting a complete re-paint. Purchased all new front and rear rotors/pads, complete Mazda speed (Tokico)shocks/coil springs, and new tires and wheels. Looking forward to cruising and enjoying the new to me ride and slowly learning this high revving rotary!!!
