Ive had my Rx8 for a good while now never had a issue with it as I take care of it and take it to someone who knows the car/s well.




I got up this morning and started engine to go off to work. car started fine I got about 10 meters down the road and the car stalled. I tried to restart the car and it tried to start dash lights went off and the car let out this loud like a gun shot sound. car wouldn't start at all.


Any ideas what is wrong or what to do?

ok its 2004 231bhp its 61000, maintence wise it gets a oil change every 4 or 5 months, it cranks if if its going to start then then dash light turn off and this gun shot bang, doesn't sound like it cranking any faster just normal trys to start then dash lighs drop off and then this massive bang out the back.

when was the last time ignition was changed? how long since you cleaned the maf, ess and nvram reset? do you have a cat? any cels? is it blinking?

last time all that was done was around service time, back in September. no its not blinking
last time ignintion was changed was back at 40k miles

 

Check your battery, make sure the connections are clean and tight.

When you say oil change every 4-5 mo, how many km's is that?

ignition components should be changed around the 25k mile mark.
