New Here - Just Bought a RX-8 Race Car

Hey All,

I just purchased an RX-8 after racing a 2nd gen RX-7 for 13 years. It came with a Renesis but I plan on going to the 13B and PBS dogring gearbox I used in my RX-7. I will have a compete drive train (Rivera motor with ceramic apex seals, MoTec M800 and MoTec dash, fresh rebuilt trans, fresh 5.11 diff) available if anybody is building a race or track car.

Just wanted to say Hi. I'm sure I'll need some help with something somebody has already dealt with.

Cheers!

Steve

Welcome, that sounds like an awesome project. Please share pictures and details on your build as time allows; we love that stuff, especially for purpose-built cars like it sounds like you are doing.

Pictures and description

Hi All,

I took the easy way out and I bought one already finished. I won't have it for a couple of weeks but I'm pretty excited. Here is the listing;

https://www.racingjunk.com/Road-Club...=1&from=search

I need to loose weight to get down to SCCA E Production weight which is 2494 pounds (including weight penalty for the dog ring box and 13wB conversion). I'm 220 with my gear so any pointers on weight reduction are greatly appreciated.

Wiring harness, electric steering and ABS are first to go. I found a trick two master cylinder brake set up out of England. The 13B is probably close to the renesis in weight but the pictures look like there are plenty of things that can go.

Cheers!

Steve

I saw that listing a few weeks back. It looks like a solid example. Glad to see it will continue to be raced.
