New here!
Hey everybody!
My name is Misty and I joined this group to further my research into the rx8.
Currently, I'm driving a GMC and have been considering selling. I was checking out some local dealers around my area and came across a 2004 rx8. Needless to say, I FELL IN LOVE.
It's an automatic with paddle shifters, 66,000 miles and he's got $6,995 on the price tag. The car dealer is close to a military base and I can almost guarantee it was owned by a Marine. (In my opinion, that's a good thing). Maybe?
It's gorgeous, clean, etc. I thought "why is this thing so cheap??" Then I started seeing "rotary" all over the place when I researched it. Should I be worried? My dad has been a mechanic his whole life basically and if I get this car, there goes my free auto advice haha. But not just that, am I getting in over my head?
I would love to hear some experiences! Or maybe opinions of what type of person should own this car. I hate to let such a nice ride slip through my fingers just because I'm scared of something different.
Thanks, y'all!

Welcome to the forum.
Read through all the information posted within the links in my SIG. The new and potential owners thread will answer ALL of your questions.
Make sure no matter what if you purchase a rotary to get a compression test BEFORE hand. Again, everything is in that thread.

welcome and please do your research first. where are you located? theres a ton of helpful members here that would most likely check out an 8 for you before you buy one.
on a side note, DONT BUY AN AUTOMATIC 8 ESPICALLY 04-05.
