New Head Unit?

Hi All,

I recently got my hands on a stock 08 Grand Touring and was looking to replace the stock head unit with a nicer touch screen Double Din from Pioneer. I looked around and it seems like it is a very uncommon thing to do, regarding RX8s with the bose system. I am wondering what kinds to harness/tools/adapters/Kit I will be needing. I was quoted $500 by a car stereo store including labor. Also, pics would be nice from those who do have an aftermarket head unit. Sorry in advance if there are threads about this topic before.

I haven't done this yet but pretty much every double-din receiver on Crutchfield shows this kit is needed to install in an RX-8.

Search and ye shall find (as my minister/calculus teacher in HS used to say...). In the future use google starting with rx8club.com and ________________ insert search terms.

MD Re: Headunit

I agree with NotAPreppie, Crutchfield will have all the information you need about choosing and installing a head unit.
I am going to contact them about installing a bazooka tube with factory bose system.
