New to the forum want to buy a rx8

Hey guys im looking into buying an rx8. Ive always loved the car and i know if i get one i will fall in love with it.

Ive been reading the "New and Potential Owners START HERE!" thread and i think i found a rx8 that sounds good. wanted to know what you guys think about it.

2007 Mazda RX-8 GT - New Engine // Safety & ETest Included - Mississauga / Peel Region Cars For Sale - Kijiji Mississauga / Peel Region Canada.

not sure about getting one thats on its second engine but it seems common.

Looks like a good buy. I'd even suspect that the owner is a member here. Not many non-forum people would get a compression test before even being asked. The mod list is reasonable with nothing that is alarming.

The price seems reasonable. A reman engine can be a good thing or a bad thing. Just get a compression test on the engine, and if it passes, then your good to go...good luck!

Did a quick search, you might also want to look at these

2007 Mazda RX-8 GT 6 SPEED PREMIUM PKG. LEATHER SUNROOF. - City of Toronto Cars For Sale - Kijiji City of Toronto Canada.
Lot less kms for about the same money

2007 Mazda RX-8 GT NAVI Coupe - Markham / York Region Cars For Sale - Kijiji Markham / York Region Canada.
Lot less money for a few more miles

2007 Mazda RX-8 GT - Safetied and e-tested - City of Toronto Cars For Sale - Kijiji City of Toronto Canada.
Price is higher than the others but I like the color combo

2008 Mazda RX-8
A little more money but a lot less miles. If you could get more info about the minor accident and it was actually minor it might not be bad.

A lot less money with a few more miles.

so im still deciding if an rx8 is the car i should get. I dont understand why so many people have problems with the engine i know its special and you need to do different stuff to it but if you follow all the rules is there still a chance your engine will blowup for no reason?

I dont want to buy a car and have to worry if i will have to get a new engine in a month.

Short answer: Yes, there is still a chance it will fail on it's own. There is ALWAYS a reason for engine failure, but there are several failure modes that you have no control over.

If the risks of engine failure make you worried, then this car is probably not for you. You need to be aware of the risks, but you also have to accept them. If you have trouble accepting them then your ownership experience will likely not be all that enjoyable.

I've actually driven the second one listed up there, the 07 with 101km when I was looking about a month ago. Was in good shape, needed battery, brakes. Ended up buying one down the street from my house with 80km though.

Do your homework and get a compression test for some piece of mind. There are plenty of rx8's for sale with 200km so there's no reason you can't get there too. That being said you do have to understand the risks.

Pretty sure if you test drove one, it would make your decision a lot easier.
