New to the forum and to Rotary!

Hey all!

I literally just registered now so im very much new. I also am receiving my first Rotary tomorrow. The RX8. I have seen all over that these cars are quite crazy on maintenance and are problematic cars, but I'd rather like to hear from the RX8 community themselves what would be the best way to maintain the car? I want to do my best to maintain this car since its going to be my daily driver

Welcome, read the new owner stickies.
Everything you need to know is there.
Probably most importantly, Always Premium gas, & check, top off motor oil every other tank.
Have fun!

rule 2 check oil often
rule 3 premium fuel
rule 4 redlining is beneficial so enjoy it

Hi All! Thanks for the replies. I did a search and found loads of info on the sight. Im currently going through them. These cars are quite a bit to handle maintenance wise. Luckily I wont be doing really any racing and just enjoying the car everyday. Will definitely print the information out. Its like doing a short course in car maintenance ^_^

Actually Cypher it's the long course. You'll constantly be learning about this car. You have come to the right place for that learning experience though. This forum has some of the best minds, builders, racers of strictly rotary engines you will ever find. What year 8? MT? Engine compression test numbers? Mileage? There are many different reliability mods that can be done for this car i would suggest you do some reasearch on those. Things like an Ignition kit from BHR, Or the Sohn Adapter. Anyway welcome, enjoy the experience.

Welcome.

The year and model will help.

If an older one, check out my $100 thread below. Lots of good stuff there.
