Need input on Codes p0661 and p0610

Hey everyone, I need your help!
I have 9 days to get my 8 inspected, that I just purchased.

2004 rx8 6 speed with 93,000 miles.
The guy I bought from barely drove it so this may be a factor
I bought it with the codes:
P0661- intake manifold tuning value control circuit (low bank 1).

From what I have read this could be one of 3 selenoides on the back of the engine, being capped with the colors black, white, and blue. And in particular it being the white one - giving the low bank 1a.

P0661 Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Control Circuit Low Bank 1 OBDII Engine Light Trouble Code | Engine-Codes.com

Now for the other one I'm not entirely sure because I haven't found anyone with this code.

P0610: Control module vehicle malfunction
From what I'm guessing it's the ECM
P0610 Mazda Control Module Performance OBDII Engine Light Trouble Code | Engine-Codes.com

It seems as if it's all electrical, any input on how to check to see what it could be, with out spending a million dollars or taking apart the whole engine. And the mazda dealership didn't have a clue and looked dumbfounded as they were told what the codes were. And didn't have a solution.

I would get them cleared then see if they come back. The ECM one I think i have seen when something annoys the ECM. Could be low power, or when a scanner is plugged in and scanning when the engine is started.

For SSV, there are threads on how to clean it, and a great video. The video will show you where it is. If you have smaller hands, and some flexibility, you can reach in and move it, as well as check the actuator. there are threads on that as well.

Gotta run.

need to replace the SSV. they have an updated one and for the time and trouble of what you have to take off to remove it. While you're at it, go and get a new thermostat since you have to take the housing off anyway. make sure you use a new therm. housing gasket as well.
