Need help guys. 😫

Hey guys just joined 🤷‍♂️😉👍 I need some advice from people who are knowledgeable on my situation. Soo iv always been an rx7 79-85 12A-13B guy Love ❤️ em. Ok so I just bought a ae86 with a 08 Rx8 ren 6 port 13b .doesn't have a intake .nor a management system. Everyone's telling me to toss it all out. Is there a management system for the spark or fuel ? Do they have a aftermarket intake where I can put a carb or webber? Like the good old days called Racing beat no help @ all. Need help🙏 wanna get this going .

I mean on the bright side you don't have to worry about the ECU freaking out about not having all of the rx8's sensors and devices. On the downside, you need to build a management system for fuel, spark, oil injection, intake valve opening, etc, from scratch. You could not worry about oil injection and just premix, but you do need to get the intake valves right. I'm not aware of a carb solution but with enough adapters you can make anything fit. I'm pretty sure you won't get as good driveability and performance without the ECU as with it, so you kinda have to choose which bullet you want to bite: run the stock ECU and spend time to make it happy (you can tune the stock ECU if you so choose), or skip the ECU and spend time making your own maps and sensor profiles for everything in a Megasquirt or some other standalone.

Personally I think I would go with having a stock ECU.

And before you say "yeah but I had a 13b before", an 08 Renny is a long long way from the 80's 13b's in operation.

Well, the old non-turbo 13b's made what 130-150hp at the flywheel? A good rx8 dynos at 190 at the wheels. So it has more power. Sure, it's not as much as the turbo versions, but that's kind of a different game. The problem is you can't really do much to make more power (except turbo). It's maxed out from the factory.

I wouldn't listen very much to people who haven't owned an rx8 or at least a rotary. There are many urban legends that people repeat without knowing any better.
