NY Need Help

Good members of the RX8 Club,

Today I just had a bunch of lights on my dash come up, I can not figure out what is going on. What I am hoping for is I just need to fill some AT fluid but I would like to defer to your wisdom just in case I am missing something. It is a 2004 RX8

The car does not seem to drive funny, and everything seems normal.

All of these came on today! HALP

Thanks.

You need to get the check engine light read, and tell us what it is.

That will really help in troubleshooting

I went to get the codes read after I got out of work this morning and it is not looking good

I'm thinking the transmission turbine/pump is screwed and that is probably something I can not handle on my own.

Nah doesn't sound too bad.
P0410 is the secondary air pump. It turns on for a few minutes when the car is first started (cold) to help the emissions. The pumps have been known to fail and are easy to fix.
There's lots of posts around the forum on this..

P0715 is the input speed sensor used by the ECU or TCM. To be honest I've not changed one of these, I own a manual Rx8 but it doesn't look to bad.
It's a magnetic pick sensor, and they don't fail too ofter but can get dirty just like the ESS.
Hopefully you just need to clean it.

I posted the P0715 troubleshooting, you should read this and check off the recommend items.
At the bottom I posted the procedure on replacing the Input Speed Sensor.

Good luck and keep us posted

Thanks for the help! I am going to keep the car parked for the next few days until I've got time to try and tackle all this. Will post updates as things progress

So we followed the steps to remove the turbine sensor, checked it out, cleaned it and performed a test drive for 2 miles at a constant 65 mph. The error did not appear again until I was driving a day later. We are now waiting for a replacement sensor.

Will update with more progress as things continue

So the new sensor is in. Things were looking good until 20 miles into the fix I got the check engine light and one of the traction control lights on.

I am going to try and get the error code scanned again, hopefully this time it will be for something else.

the sadz
