okay so everytime someone other than me drives my 8 the check engine light comes on but not long after I drive it again, it goes off. I feel like it's trying to tell me that it only likes me lol. just something weird I noticed

 

Maybe you should check for codes just to be on the safe side.

 

^^ lol. yeah. If the car is intermittently throwing a code there's obviously a reason for it. I'm still learning the ins and outs of the 8 myself but it is probably emissions related. something small can turn pretty serious with these cars, so it's best to figure it out as soon as you can.

It is likely a flashing CEL, aka a misfire. It will only get worse and when the misfire count gets high enough, the CEL will stay on. Also what did you use to check the codes? A professional level scanner is needed to really see what is going on.
