I've found what is listed as a 2006 RX8 with 100,000 kilometers,6 speed,cloth interior,no sunroof...basically what I'm looking for BUT I'd like to check to see if this really is an 06 car.
It's not unknown for dealers in this area of the world to title 'New Sales' in the model year of the sale not the build year of the car...especially with imported cars.
From what I've gleaned from this site the first two years of production have their own set of production problems that were to some extent remedied in the 06-08 builds.
I appreciate that the later 09-12 builds are basically better this way but I prefer the earlier front end an have no problem dealing with per-mixing oil in the fuel and/or using the 'Sohn adapter' to feed 2-stoke oil to the engine.
Any and all help is appreciated.

 

The changes made in 2006+ literally had almost no effect on reliability, the changes were minor. Also, In Canada don't they use VIN numbers?

 

Not sure how their date code is shown within the VIN.
I'm sure that this is a dumb-*** question but I tried a number of times using 'Search" with no success.
When reviewing "problem areas' there seemed to be issues on the 04-05 cars that were shown to be less of an issue on the later cars.
I really like 'less issues' if that is available.
No matter how you cut it I'm hoping that an RX8 will be fun and entertaining.
