mazda speed cold air intake filter removal

stupid question, whats the easiest way to get the cold air filter out from its location between the front bumper and the rad. i reached in, unscrewed it, popped it off but it wont fit out through the hole in the bumper. do I have to remove the bumper or is there an easier way?

Bumper off would be the best way. Shouldn't take too long if you have done it enough times.

Yep whole bumper comes off. There are about 10 screws on the bottom that hold on the bumper tray, about 4 screw clips on each fender well, then 2 10mm bolts up top, and about 6 push type clips.

Just take your time, and it will also give you a good opportunity to clean up any leaves and garbage that has accumulated around your oil coolers.
