Mazda RX 9 - Who wants one?

Latest news on the RX-9.... Looks beautiful! Only bad part is that it probably won't be an "affordable sports car". Although people are only guessing, numbers from $50K to $100K
have been thrown out. mazda rx-9 ? Latest Mazda news

Fun fact: significant weight savings in the RX9 were accomplished by building the body entirely from rumours and hints.

Seriously, it's becoming hard to take Mazda seriously in this. Build it or STFU.

These rumors start because top brass at Mazda are notoriously tight lipped about everything. They will never confirm or deny anything. If I were them, I'd be talking about this project every single chance I got.

If they were talking, they'd build an insane amount of hype, then when/if the car is released, everyone's expectations will be so unreal that it'll flop no matter how good it is.

Actually, they are a LOT like Apple in this regard.

I read the number at $70-80k. That's out of reach for me! Sure hope they make a world-beating car. Light, fast, nimble, with modern reliability (please please!!). A Japanese 4C but faster and with a proper manual trans. mmmmm.

Don't get your hopes up (or down):

Literally NOTHING has been officially announced by Mazda about the next production RX.

It's all speculation. Nobody has any concrete details about anything beyond the RX-VISION concept (which isn't a production car). The hype came from the concept and the alleged details are from sources that lack repute and quote anonymous sources.

As great as a new rotary sounds, I agree with NaP, nothing has been confirmed by Mazda. I hope they do leak something though!

If there was one single 100% correct piece of info to come out now, I'd want it to be pricing. If I can afford it, I'll buy it, regardless of what the specs are. If I already know I won't be able to afford it, I can stop worrying about it and move on.

Do any newer Mazdas have rust issues? I know their '04-'05 models had some pretty serious problems.
