Hey everyone. New here-just got mine this past Saturday. Took it in for a faulty coolant level sensor replacement (free) today but what the mechanic did got me wondering. When owning an RX-8, is it customary for the mechanic to rev the absolute s*** out of your car before giving it back to you? I kind of feel......violated....like....some other guy was banging my girl or something....I dunno. Something didn't sit right.

Thanks! Before he pulled it into the parking spot after he fixed it, he kept revving it up so loud everyone in the service center got up and looked at this guy basically showing off in my car. I'm probably overreacting to the guy having a bit of fun but I still think it was kind of douchy. I'm just glad the engine was warm when he did it....that's the first thing I was thinking about lol. Anyway, hopefully that's the last thing I have to get fixed for a long time. Fingers crossed...

 

He was just done replacing the coolant bottle + sensor? Maybe he was trying to get air out of the coolant system. It's not exactly shop procedure, but it one way..

 

I would have put him in a ditch somewhere...

 

LOL this was more my thinking.

Still, I could give him the benefit of the doubt so I sleep better tonight. Cleaning the air out of the system...seems legit.
