Hello, so I'm a Ford guy I have a 94 Ranger, 06 Mustang GT and just sold my 65 Ford F100.... but, now I have been looking for a runner to drive around town etc. I took an 06 out for a test drive and fell in love with how it rode.

But this car had a pinging sound coming from the engine so shook his hand after the drive and left. So moving forward what should I be looking for when inspecting the car and what price is a fair price on an 06.?

I've had my '04 GT for almost 5 years and over 42k miles and I love it still.

 

Don't buy an auto tranny, they're underpowered, boring, and '04 autos are junk.

Read the threads! I wish I had before buying but luckily my car came to me healthily because the previous owner was decent about upkeep.

Also, pinging sound or F1 whine? At high revs these cars make a neat f1 like zing.
