A little help please
What up everybody! Just got my 2007 RX 8 and im super super excited about it,i wanna marry her but i'vr got a gf so... Anyway,im taking the car for 1700miles trip with a few brakes. My question is,are they good for long distances ? And how should i keep the RPM's when driving with around 80mph? Should i just put 6th gear and go from 3k 4k 5k 6k then back to 2k 3k and etc or i shouldn't drive her below 4-5k RPM's even on a long trip? Sorry if you consider my question as a stupid 1 im a newbie and i dont wanna hurt the engine. Thanks guys !

First make sure you have a healthy ignition system and engine. It'll be as healthy as the last guy left it.
Other than that drive it like any other manual car. 6th gear at 80mphis about 4.5k, drive there. In general try to stay between 3.5 and 5. There isn't a lot of power below 3and trying to accelerate there in a high gear lugs the engine. Don't be afraid to accelerate up to 8.5-9k on occasion.

I just took mine on its first road trip thursday, drove 1k miles. Only thing I did was change the oil before I left since it was a few hundred miles from needing changed. Most of the trip was cruising in 6th at 80mph. It was not bad at all. I think it would have been better with stock seats instead of the R3 Recaros though.
In a couple of weeks I'll be driving it back. I'm thinking of taking an extra day to drive the blue ridge parkway so the drive won't be so boring.
