99% of limp mode cases are the OMP, the code for which doesn't show up on all readers (it's custom to mazda).
The OMP itself might be fine, but check the wiring connection. The other thing (possible but less likely) is when the new OMP was installed it wasn't properly aligned so the compute is finding it can't control its full range. Why did he replace the OMP in the first place?

SSV stuck open could have similar feeling, but at a higher rpm. Limp mode is a pretty sharp limit at 3k. SSV stuck open is a loss of power a little past that rpm.

So apprently motor was replaced and while he did the replacement he changed a few things on the motor like omp and a few other things only thing I don’t get is the car was running fine then it went into limp mode now I’m trying to figure out how to go about it because this is my daily so it’s hard without my daily to commute im going to take a look at the connections and plugs and see if I see anything strange how would I know If the omp is misaligned so I can go in and check it ?

You can't really tell from the outside how it's aligned, you kinda have to remove it and reinstall it following proper alignment.

A couple of theories about why this only showed up half way through your drive: the connection was loose and fully came apart in motion, the connection is intermittent for, say, a broken wire, water got in to the connector after a puddle, the OMP wasn't reaching the end of its travel (if misaligned) so the ECU didn't know anything was wrong.

So I found out that one of the connectors to the omp is exposed and all covered in dirt and debree so I’m wondering if that’s the reason why few wires were exposed and had stuff all covered in it

i’m having the same issue, on cold start or hot start after 5 minutes i can do maybe one pull to about the end of second gear then the revs just drop, so maybe after about 10 seconds of the car being on it goes into limp mode. the revs go up very slowly from 1k to about 3k and going past 3k takes a really long time, i’ve only been able to get it up to maybe 3.2k rpms on the freeway, i was limited to like 64 miles an hour. any help?

i actually just installed it how I got it didn’t want to mess with anything installed it how I was supposed too there’s like a little rectangular piece that sticks out u basically have to insert it to match the hole where it goes into you’ll feel you did it right when you feel that extra click like it went fully into the hole look up a picture of a omp and you’ll see the little tiny end I’m talking about your pretty much matching up the 2 like a plug then everything else Is just bolting everything back up be sure to keep your old gasket as used one you order don’t usually come with it and I just put a bit of gasket maker on the edge of it cause I like to be safe since the seal is a tiny little rubber band looking seal

I was referring to attempting to adjust the position switch on the original one before replacing it.
