Hey I am looking at reducing the amount of resistance under the hood and was wondering if a light weight pulley assembly kit would be a good investment?
Currently I am looking at the Greddy Pulley kit, but before I actually commit to the purchase I would like some advice if it is a good investment and if it is what brand should I be looking at? Also I should mention, it is for a series 1 mazda rx8

 

If you are looking to reduce the rotational inertia of the engine your best bet would be getting a lightweight flywheel.
it makes it easier for the engine to spin up so you may see a slight increase in acceleration, as well as making the revs
drop faster and rise quicker when shifting gears.This is provided you have a manual transmission.

 

I do have a manual transmission. What would be some good online stores to look at or brands?

 

I use the ACT Prolite Flywheel. This is the kit I used. https://www.advancedclutch.com/produ...3-600140-03-21. Also depending upon when you replaced your clutch last you may want to replace that as well. this will make the car slightly more difficult to drive because the flywheel has less rotational inertia. Act also has the streetlite which isnt as light as the prolite but it is still lighter than oem.
