- Don't believe anyone that tells you to rev the engine to 3k rpm (or something) for X number of seconds before shutting the engine off
- Read the stickies,
- Most of just about anything you'll want or need to know is already somewhere on this site. It's awesome. Use Google to search the site like this without the quotes "site:rx8club.com Exhaust"
- You can't create new threads in other subforums until you've been here long enough and have enough posts
- You can't put an S1 engine in an SII (well enough money and you can) as there are a tonne of changes
- The Cobb AP only works for the SI you'll need to use Mazdaedit for the SII
- Don't talk about Forced Induction unless at the very least you have a strong understanding of the basics.
- This car will consume your life.

I've read most of the stickies already and my question was geared more towards what brands/websites should I be avoiding. Like car exhausts from carid. And I've read that many people don't like extreme dimensions.
I don't think I'm ready to handle a turbo on my car just yet.
I've been obsessed with this car since the first time I saw one when I was almost ten.
Thanks for the tips bro. I appreciate all of it

Seriously, just stick with forum vendors for now. Lots of frauds, shady dealers, etc... out there. Sticking with forum vendors is a far better option.

Don't forget about Racing Beat.

They have the best products for intake and exhaust.

Those items may add a little MPG.

If there was any Mod to do it would be aftermarket coils from BHR.

Alright thanks for the tip, I will. However, in one of my earlier posts, I mentioned a wrecked car with loads of aftermarket parts on it. I was in the office for a couple minutes and one of the guys showed me the car out back, its a series I (don't know the year, but from where the side marker lights are located, i can tell its an S1) I asked him what the car had done and he said he didn't have the list anymore. From seeing the car briefly I took a picture of whats under the hood. I didn't get to look long at the car, but I can tell that there are many parts from Greddy, I think that the intake is from Greddy but Im not sure, but I'm pretty sure that any of those blue caps/lids etc. mean that the part is from Greddy, and the air filter is from spectre. Do you guys think any of this would be worth having on my car? P.S I drive a series 2 while this one is a s1 so fitment might be issue. Another thing, these mods would be totally free, so there is none of that its not worth what you pay for mentality for these parts

Also another question, are there any minor interior/exterior mods that you guys would recommend? I was thinking along the lines of carbon pillar posts, chrome door handles, dash kits, push to start buttons etc. The car color is a red exterior, black interior in case it mattered.

I'd be willing to bet that car had no worthwhile mods except maybe a catback. Edit: and by worthwhile I don't even mean beneficial. I just mean not detracting

That should be a defined term in the new member sticky;

worth·while mod·i·fi·ca·tion
ˈwərTHˈ(h)wīl/ mädəfəˈkāSHən/noun
noun:
1. the act of modifying an RX-8 with a performance part, with a cost between $200-$∞ while losing no more than 1 HP.

Thanks man, appreciate it. My dad absolutely loves this car to death. I barely get to drive it anymore because he takes it on joyrides all the time. He comes home and brags about how fast he drove it on the highway that day, or about this really sharp turn that he made while going really fast earlier that day. I'm starting to see the reason why he so willingly bought this car for me haha

I found it weird that some company would spend all this money on mods on the RX8 for racing/drifting or whatever, and have all these mods on their car that bring no increase or even a decrease in power. Am I missing something or do you guys think they didn't have much experience with the RX8?

I feel awkward asking this question again, but nobody answered earlier. What minor mods should I do to my car? My dad brought up getting a really loud and obnoxious muffler, he just wants to show off haha.

My dad doesn't care for my car very much. He doesn't like to go fast. Cool that yours likes it.

I think the fact that he prefers an RX8 over his 07 mercedes s600 shows how incredible the RX8 truly is. Something about this car makes everyone who experiences it so attached to it. The driving experience is so perfect. The only complaint I have with the car is the lack of interior colors. Only having black in the later models really upset me. I wish my car had a tannish color scheme. And having a bit more horsepower never hurt anyone...

I'm actually really excited for the RX9 (whenever that will be introduced, hoping for 2015). I hope it keeps true to the base of the design in this car.
