Introducing myself

Hey guys, I've been a long time lurker but I will soon be getting to a point in life where I can start working on my car myself so I figured I'd make this post and some replies so I can start making threads in other topics when the time comes. I will at least try to make a proper introduction with the car and its history first.

I have a red(velocity I think is the name?) 2010 RX8 r3 that seemed to be poorly abused when I went to look at it but am stupid so still loved it despite its flaws. It had 70k and was in one 'minor' accident when I purchased it. I got it as a very unreasonable price despite the low compression. At 99,954 miles in 2017 I had gotten a compression test which resulted in failure at a dealership in Orlando, the price was $190 for the test. They then said they couldn't do anything until they decarbed it and ran the tests again at an extra fee. The compression was still failing and then I was told the 8y/100k warranty was not applicable passed 2008 year models. After calling MNAO and confirming the warrant was for ALL year models I had them directly contact the dealership. After their talk they said they would provide a reman under warranty, but only if I bought plugs, wires and coils from them and paid for labor($800). So I reluctantly did that due to how close I was to end of warranty and two weeks later had a 100k mile RX8 with a reman motor. Engine wise, car still seems great but I have concerns about the integrity of the cat which I'll get into later.

I myself am a software engineer who is looking into getting my bachelors in mechanical engineering within the next coming year so I can properly learn about and take care of my baby for more years to come.

I have a current dilemma right now though. I have lots of issues with my car, but I can only identify a few. I was wondering if a reputable forum member in the Orlando area who's extremely familiar with our cars could meet up and drive my car to help me identify the other issues I'm experiencing. I can buy us some beer afterwards

If this is the wrong place to post my last part, please remove it and I'll work my way to putting that in a topic in the appropriate forum.

Anyway, sorry for the long and weird intro. Nice to meet you guys
