...and I need some advise (2004 RX-8 auto 86,000 miles...2nd new engine)...first are there any block codes I should not accept?? Are there any block codes I should try to get???While I am in the process of changing the engine is there anything else I should do??

Also there is something wrong with the heating and air...both work fine when you get them to work but that can be tricky sometimes... any idea's???

I am glad I bought the extra warranty on this one!!! First time I ever bought one of those things, I have heard so many horror stories about these warranties but thanks to this club I decided it was worth it for this car...THANKS GUYS!!!

 

its a crapshoot, some remans are good some are junk. i dont think you get to pick. not sure if its the same for the 4 and 6 port but a mazmart waterpump and t-stat are always good upgrades. fresh ignition, check cat ect. the heat is a common issue its probably a bad solder joint on the switch. theres a fix in the diy section

 

Hate to be stupid but...4 port what and a six port what?? Sorry but my overall knowledge for the RX8's probably would not fill a thimble...Do I have a choice of which I put in my auto RX-*??

 

no, 04-05 autos have a 4 port motor. all manuals have a 6 port and 06+ all have a 6 port engine regardless of the trans. read all the threads linked in riwwps sig and that will get you very informed
