I have an 05 rx8 and recently the key snapped off in the ignition. I removed the key, bought a new fob case and moved the chip and all guts from the original fob to the new one. Got the blade cut by a locksmith so I could not have to pay a million bucks to the dealership. Problem is that before the battery was put into the new fob the new key would turn the ignition but would not start the car. Once the battery was in place in the new fob the doors and trunk functions would work on the fob but now the key won't turn. I have jiggled the wheel while turning the key to try to unlock the steering wheel but it doesn't work. Don't know how it could possibly be locking me out of the ignition if I'm using the same chip and everything from the old fob. Any ideas?
