Idle Issue

My 2004 Mazda RX8 stalls when coming to a stop. It was fine until it went in for a trans (automatic) rebuild. Original trans seemed fine, however, there was a torque converter related code (don't remember what the code was at this time). Trans shop recommended a rebuilt trans and new torque converter. Car had about 150k miles and I thought in might be about time anyways. After the car was picked up, I discovered that the engine would die at every stop (when in drive). I brought the car back to the trans shop and they replaced the Camshaft Positioning Sensor (oem part) and it seemed to help (at least for the drive home). After that, car continued to die whenever coming to a stop (right as stop is nearly completed). I brought the car to an electronics specialist, he thought the torque converter was locking (keeping engine and trans engaged). Back at trans shop - they pulled the trans and replaced the torque converter. That did not fix the problem. Back at electronic shop ... he couldn't figure it out (after 3 weeks).

At this time, I am not looking for thoughts on what the problem might be (I have an extensive list from multiple mechanics and most have been considered, explored or ruled out). I am looking for someone competent to diagnose the problem and do the needed repair. I am in the Beaumont, CA area.

Thanks for any help with a referral.

Engine rebuilt (by Lucky 7 racing), rebuilt trans, replaced torque converter and camshaft position sensor.
