hey guys i really need u guys help. so this has been happening for 3 days now. the car is hard to start when hot shes cranking and all that. she wants to start but she almost doesnt. i tried giving it gas still didnt work. so i thought maybe it could be my starter. so i bought a new upgraded starter, installed em today and tried starting it and still wont start. exact same thing is happening. took a couple tries before she start. then i finally got it all running took it for a quick test drive. went to 2nd gear to 3rd now the car suddenly died on me and wont start. plugs and wires were recently replaced by the previous owner. maybe the cat is clogged? causing the car not to start? idk what could it be!! I NEED HELP!!!

 

When the plugs and wires were replaced the coils should have been replaced as well. This could be a major contributor in your no start condition. You need to make sure the engine is not flooded and if it is, you will need to de-flood the engine before attempting to start the engine. After you get it running, you should do a compression test with a rotary compression tested to ensure you are working with an engine that's healthy and not failing. A failing engien can have you chasing your tail and tossing money at something that isn't really causing issues.

 

yeah i dont think the coils were replaces by the previous owner but the engine is not flooded i dont think. ive never **** the car down cold. i will do a compression test pretty soon. thank you

 

Shutting off cold shouldn't matter, if you're compression is failing it could make it harder to start warmed up.
Check your battery also.
Weak batteries can cause problems.

 

I'm sure your problem is your coils or the car is flooded. You can try the deflood procedure (easy enough to find a guide how to do it on YouTube) because even though you never shut it off cold, the fact that you are cranking it a lot without it starting will cause it to flood.

Do a compression test, and if it passes, go ahead and put in 4 new ignition coils and do the deflood procedure. Hope this helps.

Keep us updated on the compression test results. The best way of course is with a rotary compression tester but it can be done with a standard compression tester and that will give you a general idea of where you stand,but won't give you exact numbers.
