I need help from people who actually own a rx8
Hi everybody im looking into getting my first rx8. Ive been inlove with the car since 04 and now im finally old enough to own one so ive been doing alot of research and so far everywhere I look the 8 has gotten bad reviews. Due to its lack of reliability and going through engines like crazy I just want opinions of rx8 owners people who actually own them

I've had just about every issue this car has. Being manufactured in 03 in japan and purchased as an 04. Mine has had ALL of the problems. Still love the car completely. If your not dedicated, or willing to work hard and spend some $$$ along the way then dont purchase this car. If this is going to be your first car, DONT DO IT! If your not willing to spend the money, and time DONT DO IT. Read the new members forum and go from there. Then come ask your ?'s

Hi, Just brought 231 03 plate 69,000 miles, it had a compression test 4000 miles ago which read. Cranking speed, 268rpm front rotor face 1, 7.8 face 2, 7.6 face 3, 7.45. Rear rotor face 1, 7.87. Face 2, 7.8. Face 3, 7.45. Plan to get health check this Wednesday. Have a rx8 192 also but think it has low Compression Combined with clutch Decided to buy a new one. Have I made the right choice with these readings? Thanks

If those are the correct numbers their not bad. Your about midway through 7's with that cranking speed and those numbers so not bad. I would already start to prepare for a new motor or a rebuild kit depending upon your DIY capabilities. I would say you have a while before that time though, plenty of time to prep and save. Welcome to the 8 community.

Thanks. Sorry about the treads. Will know for next time. These readings were from rotary revs, Ben. Hear he is the spin doctor here? That what the guy told me when I brought it, not sure if this Community is UK or USA based. I'm uk.
