I bought a 2006 RX 8 last week.
I am hoping someone can give me some feedback. Extremely new here so go easy on me! Bought this 06 Shinka model with 62,500 miles on it. Was unable to get ahold of the mechanic I use because of it being Saturday. I got him on the phone and he told me some stuff to ask the owner, some stuff to look at and the way it should feel driving. I've been searching for months and this guy who I bought it from.....well it felt right. Now please correct me if I am wrong but I was told some stuff about an apex seal? That if this goes the engine needs to be re-built or replaced? What should I look for in the car as far as this goes? Would I be burning oil? Will it leak below? What signs should I look out for?

Before purchase.
Oops, well, read it now anyway.
Your questions are common, and are answered there, along with questions that you will ask but don't know that you will ask yet. We know you will though, so they are answered ahead of time.
If you still have questions after that, come back and ask them in this thread. If the questions exist in that thread, we will just keep pointing you back to finish reading it.

Welcome -and don't panic as you read the new owner's thread. All valuable information, but potentially overwhelming.
If you don't have it, download a pdf of the Quick Tips booklet from mazdausa.com. Good quick start on the essentials, much shorter read than the owner's manual.
'06 is a good year for 8s. There are a few things they didn't get right before then, and a few things they blew afterwards. You hit the sweet spot.
What color is yours?

It's white with an off gray interior. I don't think I could post any pictures yet because I'm new. Geez......I hate this learning curve.
