How the know the difference between type s and base model

Hi everyone, I’m come from HongKong and I want to buy the Rx8 type s MT at few days

And I know type s should have 6MT and 250hp for Japan model. The seller type s also have 6MT, but the car registration cover only said the model is Rx8-base model, So i’m worry to get the 210hp Rx8 and the seller change the gear box from 5MT to 6MT, and I cannot have a hp test for this

how can I know which model of this car? Did the type s have some different part between 5MT 210hp model?

Thanks a lot!!!

The base model rev limiter on the gauge only goes up to 9 while the high power gauge goes to 10. The power difference is 192hp for the 5 speed and auto while the 6 speed is 232hp. Make sure you compression test before buying to save some heartache.
