Well, can we get a bit more information? Auto or stickshift? Idle? Any work history? You are asking us to do a lot of diagnosis with no information. Original Cat? New cat? Compression numbers? Last time plugs and wires and coils were changed?

Let's break this down a little more. All we know is you have a nearly 100kmi RX8. We know nothing of it's history, if it's been maintained, if it's made any noises, throwing any check engine lights, ect. I mean... You have to give us more to work on man. We aren't psychic. We'd love to help, but we can't just shove our hands up the tailpipe of the car from across the country and say "Oh, here's your problem."

If the rpms are high but the car is barely moving, the engine isn't connected to the wheels. Your clutch is gone :/

Yeah, that could be it too. What Loki said. If you drop the car in any gear does it stall or does it start pulling? Basic clutch slipping 101.
