Hi, I bought my 2004 rx8 a few months ago it is manual 231hp with 92000 miles.

I bought with some problems, hot start problems, slightly misfiring on low rpm and high rev as well. Wasn't fast really. I bought it with the idea of rebuild the engine and then learn about rotary engines. I bought the full rebuild kit

I've rebuild the engine and it was doing the same, new spark plugs,coils, leads and fuel pump been replaced also I've tried with other lambda sensor but it is still misfiring, I did tried to remove the cat but it does exactly the same. today I've put the cat back in the car and it is running really bad misfiring in all rpm and doesn't go over 5000rpm looks like a launch control. the last owner told me that he did changed the cat, battery, starter motor and maf. The maf looks like is a cheap one.
for me I think I have a problem with the ignition or probably need more fuel. I did the 20 foot brakes reset a few times and is the same. When engine is hot and I turn the lights on idle is going up and down. I will try to see if is any air leak but I don't think that all gaskets are new.
any idea?
