Hi all.

Hi all. I'm Frances Walsh from Austin . New owner of the RX8 here. I certainly don't know much about cars, it's rare that women do. And my husband bought me this car and told me to start to understand, register and communicate on this forum.

Does your husband hate you?

JK.
Welcome to the forum.
Is he a rotary enthusiast?
Many of us have a love/hate relationship with our 8s.

If your husband didn't have it done yet, first order of business is to get a rotary specific compression test.
2 sets of 3 numbers for each of the rotor faces.

Read the New Owner stickies to familiarize yourself with the 8.

Then, for positive reaffirmation, read The Little Things thread.

Welcome to the addiction!

Well you certainly jumped in the deep end of the pool with this car. They can be a blast to drive. Not that hard to maintain - if a car can be needy then an 8 qualifies. Read those new owner stickies and stay on top of maintenance. Search is your friend. Use the Google search option, type Www site Rx8club and your topic, then start reading. Huge amount of information here to answer your questions. Most everything you will encounter has already happened to someone here and there will be many threads with solutions. If you need help after researching ask away. Nice to have another person keeping these cars “alive”.

edit - another useful link to read: https://rotaryresurrection.com/rx8-ownership-tips/

Have fun
