IE Help! Need to figure out why my car's running perfectly...

I'm really mystified by the unproblems I've been having with my 2006 RX8 lately. I tried to search, but this forum seems to be full of people having problems with their car while mine's perfectly fine. I don't know what to do....

I bought it with borderline compression two years ago and it's never once failed. Sure it did lose and ignition coil soon afterwards which took the cat out, but it's never failed to start, run or get me home.

It's been fitted with D585's, had the cat removed and got a dwell remap, but it's still otherwise stock and eking up on 120,000km.

Now it does like to tease every now and then, reminding of problems that should be happening like the time it got a fill of ***** petrol and gave hot-start trouble or the condensation boiling off on cold mornings... but it only seems to be saying that these are the problems it could have, but utterly refuses to do.... The tease.

Now lately I did get a check engine light again but a P0327 isn't anything to write home about. A heavy grade of oil in the sump and a cold morning probably pulled the voltage down, or a loose connector.

And when I took it around Mondello a couple of months ago, the whole TCS/DSC/ABS gave up after a lap or two but I suspect that's to do with different wearing on the front tyres. Still stormed around in hideous conditions and proved it's mettle.

Been running lately with Torque-Pro and somewhat surprised to see 10.5-11l/100km at 120kph.... it should be doing at least double that! Very dissapointing. The last time it was double that, it had a carboned up MAF but a squirt of cleaner solved it sharpish.

I've stalled it hard right after a cold start and it didn't flood.
I've never had any hesitation on hot-starts, except when given bad fuel

I've tried to do my own maintenance and managed to keep it running. Just changing oil and keeping an eye on the coolant, and giving it 200:1 castrol 2t in the tank.

I suppose I could try disconnecting a vacuum hose and post a few threads wondering why the idle is fucked while listening to nobody.....

It did get hit by a digger recently..... meh, I'll figure out how to bodyfiller it. Google is a thing.

Well your poor fuel economy (which I don't find to be that bad at those speeds) is likely due to many things that cause fuel issues. Mainly plugs/coils/ wires. When qas rhe last time you checked the fuel delivery?
And your lack of compression is a huge red flag. Just because you don't show any symptoms, it doesn't mean your good to go with no problems.

She was borderline when I bought it, but not in the danger zone. It hasn't lost power or started showing problems. Might just've been carbon buildup or something.

As for the fuel economy, that's the equivelant of 20-22mpg, US. It's fine, lol. You missed my attempt at a joke.

It's perfectly healthy and happy hammering along.

I got the 'joke', it wasn't funny.
I imagine many others with engine problems found it in poor taste.
Tempting fate is risky.
Bad Karma.
Jinx is real.
Better start saving up for a rebuild.

Reminded me of how I felt with 04 rx8 6spd the first rx8 I had..
Bought it at 160k kms and it lasted me till 283ishk kms on original motor.
I would read here new owners complaining about their cars while I would wonder dang! how come mine is running flawlessly untill one day she just stopped lolllll

Now with my 2nd Rx8 I am a happy rotard once again :-)
Rx8 is no longer my DD, it's more like a track car, show car and comes out on weekends and evenings only..

As Big Cajun said, start saving up :-)
