Help me please...

1st of all, i want to say thank you to everyone who will take their time reading this and trying to help me.
This is not my profile but i logged with FB cause i just forgot my mail and username.
Now,guys. I ran into a serious problem and i think i need an engine rebuild but i saw a video where an rx8 wouldnt start from stall and it didnt need a rebuild.
So... i have a 2007 RX 8 231HP , i bought it from UK and brought it 3000km to my country few months ago.Yesterday i needed to drive 40km to take a friend to a bus for another country but the car started getting hot (arrow little over the middle limit),i stopped put some coolant in it waited to cool down and started again. But the same problem occured in 5 minutes after that,we didnt had time to pull so i kept driving like this. The arrow was alnost on the H(just 3 lines before H) when suddenly the car lost power and i had to pull over. Now the car wont start from 1 place, but will start if its moving (from 1st or 2nd gear).I had a problem with my coolant reservoir(it was a little cracked on the spot where the cap is) and i think thats the problem for overheating.
Please give me a little hope. Thanks!

First: if you haven't already read the new owners thread, and then read it another 12 times no really read this!

Second: if the stock dummy temp needle moves anywhere past the normal operating temp (sailboat) you are already past the temp where damage can and most likely has happend to your engine

Third: only way to find out is to do a coolant system pressure test (search the forums)

Cracked reservoir caused the overheat, overheat caused engine failure. Shouldn't have kept driving knowing the reservoir is cracked, and CERTAINLY shouldn't have driving in overheat. You will need a replacement engine.

I would not reuse any part that has been overheated, to avoid having the same problem in 10,000km

Thank you for your answers... Do you have any idea how much will it cost me to replace the engine and the coolant system?

Well we don't know where you live. If you are in Europe, it seems like everything is a little more expensive than North America.

For reference, a Mazda remanufactured engine is US$3000ish, while a coolant bottle is US$100ish.
