Have you checked the obvious? The battery and fuses are the first to check.

Dude. Sentences.

What gave you tried so far? A
Have you read the New &Potential Owners Start Here thread?

A rebuild isn't something you turn around in your driveway, unless you want to repeat the experience every 10000 miles. So think carefully on whether you want to invest the 4-5k required to get a known good engine.

Have you run a compression test on the engine? Always first thing you should do to find out the engine's health.

No power at all sounds similar to my issue where I found corroded batter connection the culprit. Is the batter known to be good? Is there corrosion on the battery connections? If so, clean them and try again. Take a minute to watch this video, some good advice for new owners.

If you are hearing knocking in the bellhousing then it's time to pull the trans. If you are already pulling the engine then that will solve that. I had a knocking sound once in an RX-8 engine and it was a failed rotor bearing. I've seen this more than once over the years. Its something to consider.
