So I'm in a bit of a pickle. I didn't garage my RX8 this winter like I normally do. Sunday night, I noticed a little critter sitting on my tire, eating a nut. Just out of curiosity, I decided to pop open my hood. To my surprise, there was a squirrel nest and a squirrel in the corner, next to my latest install, my Sohn adapter Idemistsu reservoir. Well, my daily driver is on its last leg so I decided to clear out the nest to check out the damage. I found a a few chewed up wire harnesses and the firewall all tore to hell. My problem is, I do know what one of the harnesses goes to, but have no clue what the other one is. I did try to start it as there my oil line still had a decent amout of Idemitsu in it. It fires up with a jump, acts like its going to short out, then dies. I'm sure I need a new battery but my other wires look good. I'm wondering if this mystery wire harness is making something short? Can anyone tell me what its to? Its chewed off the back of the vacuum pump. I'm posting a couple pics, but its kinda dark so I don't know if anyone will be able to tell what they are. Any help would be kindly appreciated. Back of vacuum pump. Wires off to the left.
