TX Help! 3D project.

I would greatly appreciate if someone is willing to measure the height, length, and width of their shift **** in order for me to create a more accurate model in Autodesk Maya for my 3D printed shift **** project. Also what are the thread dimensions for the shifter.

I can have mine scanned if that's what you need.

3D printing is an awful business.

That'd be awesome if you could. Main reason is I take an animation class and would love to recreate a RX-8 shift ****, especially considering the moron who previously owned my car threw in a trash after market one. Just a fun and functional project.

I'll see if I can get it tomorrow and let you know. It's a good excuse to learn how to use the scanner.

Maya really isn't a great program for printing, do you have access to Inventor or anything else?

Do you know what file formats you can work with? I can output to STEP, IGES, and mesh (.stl, .obj, etc) files. I think maya can work with STEP files without any extra plugins, but I haven't played with it enough to know for sure.

I'll be sure to send the .stl as well, since those are really convenient when it comes to printing stuff.

I believe STEP files do require a plug, one which my computer lab has installed. So step and .stl would be great.
