I bought me rx8 a little over a month now. I use it as a daily driver and have almost put 2400 miles on it.
Ihave noticed it has a struggle in hot starts ( like when I turn it off to pump gas) and I can't help to think its low compression. Keep in mind it's all stock except for the air filter which was switched by the previous owner to a k&n air filter. (Not a cold air intake). Is there any way I can elongate the life with out paying out almost as much as the car was worth for a new engine or a rebuild.

 

get a comp test. k&n isnt recommended because the oil from the filter can get on the maf. how old is your ignition. what starter? what trans? what battery?
