Hey everyone, my names ben and I've just bought my first rx8. I've had a look into replacing the stand bulbs with a HId kit, including ballasts etc... Can't really find a decent instruction into fitting them and the best way to keep them tidy. If anyone could help and show me how they did theirs it would be brilliant.

The best way to do this is by swapping your headlight units for those from a 231. It's a straight swap apart from splicing two wires on each side. There is a thread about it over on the UK club forum somewhere.

Bear in mind that either way, fitting HID lamps to a 192 will mean it no longer meets type approval and may be picked up at MOT time if the tester notices and checks for the presence of the level sensors

 

It is the 231 ... Are they different ?

 

In that case you already have HIDs. Do you have the washer covers on the front bumper?
