Hi all,

got my 8 last november. It's a 2004 Titanium gray, MT, 75k miles. I live in Quebec, Canada and the car as seen a couple of winters over the first 5 years with the initial owner. The second owner as stored it for the 4 following winters so the body is quite clean for a 10 years Mazda. And I'm the third owner. I've been reading the site from begining of owenership and lately I'm doing a lot of preventive maintenance since you guys explain stuff so well Changed the coil/wires/plugs like a good boy lol!

I got the dreaded low compression (83,83,83 - 78,79,82 @ ±250 rpm). No hot start problem (which is weird to me). Only has a rattle between 1500 -2000 RPM, which I'm not sure is related. The rest is running good except for the high fuel consumption. (15-16 mpg at best).

I plan to rebuild the engine this winter. I know it's a lot of time and that's why I'm planning to do it when I'll have 4-6 months ahead of me. It's not my DD so I can live without it. I've been documenting myself and gathering some tools.
