Hello from a new owner
Hi all,
got my 8 last november. It's a 2004 Titanium gray, MT, 75k miles. I live in Quebec, Canada and the car as seen a couple of winters over the first 5 years with the initial owner. The second owner as stored it for the 4 following winters so the body is quite clean for a 10 years Mazda. And I'm the third owner. I've been reading the site from begining of owenership and lately I'm doing a lot of preventive maintenance since you guys explain stuff so well
Changed the coil/wires/plugs like a good boy lol!
I got the dreaded low compression (83,83,83 - 78,79,82 @ ±250 rpm). No hot start problem (which is weird to me). Only has a rattle between 1500 -2000 RPM, which I'm not sure is related. The rest is running good except for the high fuel consumption. (15-16 mpg at best).
I plan to rebuild the engine this winter. I know it's a lot of time and that's why I'm planning to do it when I'll have 4-6 months ahead of me. It's not my DD so I can live without it. I've been documenting myself and gathering some tools.
Btw, thanks in advance to RR who has put together "the removal of engine" and "how to get to bare engine".
