Hi there. First day in the forums and first post.
Will be hoping to rack brains in the future.
Have an rx8 at the moment (broken engine) bought a donor car to replace engine with....however when i go to start it all i get is a sort of clunck / loud click. Can someone point me in tbe direction to try and move the engine via a ratchet to see if its seized or not.
Any help is appreciated.

Is it possible the click is the starter relay and all you need is to charge up the battery?

 

Sounds like a weak battery to me. Check and be sure you have a fully charged/healthy battery and then try starting it. Any weak link in your ignition system:worn out plugs, coils, wires, weak battery, will prevent you from starting it. If that doesn't work, then there may be other issues. Come back to this thread for help.
