Hello

Hi fellow crazy people (you must be if you own an rx8). I recently traded one of my cars for my first rx8. It is in limp mode hence my presence on this forum. The only info I've found on the topic is that it's almost always the omp. Going to head to pick n pull tomorrow if no one has any advice.

It's more often the connection or installation of the OMP than the OMP itself. Has it been apart before? Either way you'll want to read up on proper installation, whether to fix yours or replace it.

Thanks for your response. I have unplugged the connectors and cleaned them with electronic spray and a brush. The sensor plug (3 wires) did look a little green. I cleaned both sides of the connection the best I could with electronic cleaning solvent and a brush. The issue remains. So either I didn't clean them good enough or there may be another issue with either the harness or omp. I had a code for omp stepper motor. It's connection was nice and clean. Possible the stepper motor is bad and I just need a new omp all together? I'd rather it be that than a wiring gremlin.

P1687 MOP stepper motor was the code
update: got a new to me OMP and fixed it! Now to figure out why my power steering doesn't work. 🥲 I've tried cleaning the connectors and turning the wheel side to side.
