There's actually a specified number of posts you need. Read the rules, as well as the new members announcements at the top of the new members forum.

if you think thats tough... try being a member since 2011, and having your post count reset because you stepped away for a couple years.

I believe the specified number is 10, i'm working my way up to that for same reason.
