Hello a little intro about myself.


My name is jurgen and i bought my rx8 about 2 years ago. Drove it for 2 months before the engine had gone bad. Nice little challenge to rebuilt it.


So I did a engine rebuilt and replaced everything that had to do whit bearings seals and etc. Put i back in and turned it over took 10 seconds and she whas alive.


But now after about 2000 kilometer (1200 miles) i have a high pitched noise coming from the front off the engine but it goes away after pressing the clutch. It even goes away if I simply take the slack out off the the clutch pedal.


So my qeustion here is.

any off you have had any experience something like this and possibly have a answer to what it is.



As for maintenance I replaced oil and oil filter at 100,250 amd 500 miles during break in period and at 1000 miles. Changed belt coils spark plug at 1000 miles and the second new clutch and 3rd throw out bearing. Before I noticed it whas from the front.

 

Does the noise vary with rpm? My initial thinking is front thrust bearing and related stack wasn't properly installed and is now wearing. Do you have metal flakes in the oil?

It does change whit rpm indeed.
I checked my end play yesterday and still where i set it during rebuild.
further I don't have any metal shavings in my oil or in my filter they where picked apart to check the inside.

I will have to check my stack and bearing to be sure.

I am open for ideas honestly maybe somebody els has a suggestion to check.
