Happy new owners of S2 rx8
Hey whats going on guys.Me and my wife just bought a 09 rx8 with 44k miles over the weekend and I've been reading the forums non stop over the weekend to gain the knowledge you have here. I'm not new to cars, I've been toying around in my weekend drifter. Its a 87 Toyota corolla ae86. so I'm use to getting passed by people speed walking. I've just purchased the coil, wire and plugs with all life time warranties just to be on the safe side cuz i did a carfax and it says it has not been done. Any other knowledge would be gratefully appreciated. and ill try and get pics up as soon as i can.

Welcome to the club. There is plenty of good info in this specific forum (New Member Forum) to get you going. In my experience, a nice set of new coils, plugs, wires (which you got), a fresh oil change to M1 0w40 (best UOA's I have seen for my '10, always use OEM filter), about 6oz premix in each fuel fill (Amsoil Saber, or Idemitsu, just a little insurance against wear [hotly debated]), and most of all: enjoy the car

thanks for the welcomes. in my personnel opinion premix is personal preference. I feel its a good thing but for how much i drive it would cost WAY to much per gallon. but when i start to drift the 8 im going to premix just for added safety. now im not wanting start a debate her. lol

Ok so i did a quick search on google for mazdaedit but it takes me to a forum looking place thats very confusing. Also I'm really wanting to remove the catalytic convertor but because I live in a emission zone its going to be difficult. The only thing they do tho for obd2 cars is just plug them in there tools into the DLC and run through the ecu. No inspection or rolling road. I've read that people have gone a couple days without the CEL coming on or not at all.

Yes, you will need an ECU flashing method to turn off the CEL for that emissions check, or reinstall the cat for each inspection.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to start getting into researching hard cuz the cat is going to be a major issue when I start driving it hard. Im either going to get the BHR midpipe or the race roots one without the resonators. And I already did the research so I already now about the loudness, and use to it. And besides my other half wants the car to be loud so. lol
