GURU needed!!

I need some help guys. I bought an rx8 with the motor out of it, but it was rebuilt. I have the motor in, and it has started and ran 3-4 times for about 5-10 mins. The last time I started it, it idled erratically and kinda choked itself off right before it died. It will crank and crank now, but won't catch. I also noticed when it was running, if I gave it gas, it died. Any ideas? It ran very smooth the first 3 times, sounded great, but the 4th time it choked out.

I have done the deflood method (removed fuel pump fuse, unhook air pump, crank until it sounds deflooded), it's actually how I got it started a couple times. It doesn't seem to work right now though. I have 1 code for heated o2 sensor, and have reset ecu but no other info. I bought a new maf thinking that might be it...

no real need to pull a fuse, just push the gas peddle down and crank for 10 sec intervals.

also whats the ignition systems health like? brand new?
you didn't give much info to work with

Yeah, I'm sorry about the lack of info. The coil packs, wires, and plugs are all new. There is only one code for a heated oxygen sensor. I haven't done a compression test, but I would like to think that if it starts and runs for awhile (which it did) the compression should be ok. It's a brand new rebuild with the Atkins rebuild kit.

No I have not, i will be sure to do that. Out of curiosity though, if they are improperly hooked up, would it have started and ran like it did? It has ran 4 times for at least 10 mins each time, the last time is choked out and died.

Well thank you for resisting the urge, I am new to this forum, and this platform. But I am not new to research, I understand there are low power injectors, and high power injectors, my question was simply a curious one because the injectors operate at different levels and I wasn't sure if they where swapped around that they would work.
