Got rear ened... in the parkin lot ... :sadwavey:

2 days ago I got rear ended in the parking lot...

i was parked and a Lexus SUV just backed up where i was parked and the old guy who hit me said he didnt see me...he was nice and everything and admitted it was his fault...i wasnt really mad since he apologized and everything but I was kinda bumbed out since now my rear bumper has to be changed...

Im leaning towards taking it to the dealer since they will have original parts...what do you guys think?

I would do a little research and locate one of the "top drawer" body shops in town. By "top drawer," I mean the kind of shop that folks take their Porsches, Ferraris, Rolls-Royces and other high-end vehicles to. Or a place that also does classic car restoration.

Note that any body shop can buy Mazda OEM parts.

That said, realize that any decent body shop can replace and paint match a new bumper.

My Experience has been that unless the dealer has an "in house" bodyshop they just farm it out to an outside shop nearby and add a high percentage markup to the final price to cover the cost of them phoning the outside shop to come and pick it up. Sometimes the stealership will deliver it to the outside shop with a corresponding increase in markup to cover the lot boys time to deliver it.

Research is always to your benefit.
